[Movies] Science-fiction movies.

Today I want to do another Top10 as it's been a long time since I last did the first one, I've seen tons of movies since then I probably I would add or change something but I will do that maybe in the future. Of course my favorite movie is still the same, Some like it hot, that's not going to change at the moment.
But right now the Top10 will be about Science-fiction movies, I won't add the movies I already have in my main Top10, they will be another ones.

1.Back to the future. (1985-1989-1990 Robert Zemeckis)

These are my favorite Science-fiction movie ever and I can't choose one of the three so I'm putting the whole trilogy, but if I had to choose one I will probably say the second one, 'cause I love Marty's sneakers and the hoverboard. I don't even think I need to explain the plot but just in case, a brief summary. Marty McFly is a teenager with an unenterprising family. He's friend's with the scientist Doctor Emmett Brown (aka Doc) who invents a time machine out of a DeLorean. When they're proving the DeLorean for the first time something happens and that forces Marty to get into the car and travel to the past suddenly. In the past he has to make his mum and dad fall in love again. I don't want to spoil it so I won't tell exactly what happens. In the second movie Marty, his girlfriend and Doc travel to the future to help Marty's son, everything gets messed up so he has to travel back to the past, the same as in the first movie.  On the third movie Marty travels to the past, to the far west actually, to save Doc.

2.Total Recall. (1990 Paul Verhoeven)

I've seen this movie tons of times, last time I watched it was last week, when I found out that there is a 2012 version of this movie with Collin Farrell. I'll have to watch that one and see how good it is.
This movie is about Douglas Quaid a construction worker that is tired of his life and needs something more, he's having dreams about Mars so he decides to go to Rekall (Memory Call in spanish), a company that implants fake memories and experiences, and he asks for one about being a secret agent in Mars. Something goes wrong and that makes Quaid remember who he really is. He travels to Mars to discover what's going on and why someone wants him dead.

3.Dark City.(1998 Alex Proyas)

I guess Matrix is very similar to this movie but this one is even darker. This movie kind of scared me this first time I watched it but I still love it.
John Murdoc wakes up in a hotel and doesn't remember who he is or what is he doing there after a phone call he has to run away. There's a murdered woman and everyone blames him for this and other murders. He finds his wife and family and talks to them, they don't remember him and he finds out that he's from a place called Shell Beach. The Strangers, the ones that blame him from the murders, chase him and is during that chase that he discovers he has telekinetic powers. He keeps looking for Shell Beach, finds the person that made the call and the Strangers get him. I'm not going to spoil the end but I think it's great.

4.Terminator 2. (1991 James Cameron)

I've seen all Terminator movies and i have to say that this one, the second one, for me, is the best one.
The movie is about John Connor, he's the son of Sarah Connor and he's living with a foster family while his mother is on a psychiatric hospital. T-1000 is sent to the past to kill John Connor, future leader of the Resistance, and T-800 is also sent there (by John Connor) to save him. The Terminator gets John Connor and  they both help Sarah to get out of the center. The T-1000 chases all three of them trying to kill John and his mother while the Terminator tries to save them. That's mostly it, I guess all the movies, minus the last one maybe, have the same structure.

5.Surrogates. (2009 Jonathan Mostow)

Bruce Willis' movies are my guilty pleasure. I have to say that I prefer him as human than as surrogate, no matter how old is he. This is based on the comic series that I haven't read, I'll have to take a look and see how good they are.
This happens in the future where people uses something like a cyborg (the surrogates) to actually live their lives. Tom Greer is an FBI agent that has to investigate the murder of a surrogate and surprisingly of the person that is using it. A few people starts to die the same way, with a strange machine that not only disables the surrogates but also kill the human. Between the people that created the surrogates and the ones that are against it, some people tries to kill agent Greer and he has to leave the surrogate and investigate what's behind all these murders.

6. A.I. Artificial Intelligence. (2001 Steven Spielberg)

This movie is like a modern and futuristic version of Pinocchio. I loved the teddy bear in here, I still want one like that.
In this futuristic society there are another kind of robots, they're called Mecha and they are used for a lot of things, they are all made as adults and don't have feelings. A company creates a Mecha child that is able to feel love and a family whose son is in coma decides to get that Mecha. David, the Mecha kid, comes to the family and has a bond with Monica, his "mother", the one that introduces the code into the mecha. When the real son of the family wakes up from the coma they are afraid that David wants to hurt him so they abandon him on a forest with some money and the Teddy bear. David remembers Pinocchio and starts his travel to find the Blue Fairy.

7.Moon. (2009  Duncan Jones)

I have to say that this movie might be a little minimalist but is really good, also I thought it was the same actor but I found out that it's not! One of the clones is another actor. Well, let's go to the movie.
This is about an astronaut that's on an automate base on the moon, on one of his drives over the moon surface he has an accident and later he wakes up inside the base not remembering exactly what happened. They don't let him go back outside to get the vehicle but he escapes, when he arrives there he finds a body inside the vehicle and finds out that it's himself. The original astronaut, Sam Bell, thinks the other one is a clone and both try to find out what's really going on. I won't say anymore because I could spoil if I say just one more word. I highly recommend it and I this is not higher on the list 'cause I have only seen this movie once.

8.Equilibrium. (2002 Kurt Wimmer)

I'm not a big fan of Christian Bale as a person but I don't think he's a bad actor. I really like his Batman's movies, also American Psycho and maybe a couple more of his movies.
This one is a remake of Fahrenheit 451, even though the director says otherwise, well sorry to burst his bubble but we have eyes and ears and both movies are mostly the same. You can say that this one is more about feelings but let's be honest, forbidding books in Farhenheit 451 is more or less the same because they are forbidding to have their own ideas, the creativity and therefore feelings. Anyway, I love this movie and as the other one above this, I have only seen this once otherwise it would be probably higher.
So, mostly this movie is about a society that forbids any form of art, because they provoke feelings and feelings are forbidden because those were the main cause of the humanity decadence. There is a special  force formed by the Clerics, John Preston is the best one of them. One day he's forced to kill his partner and then he starts to think about the feelings and starts stealing books to read them, he stops to take the Prozium, a drug that suppress emotions but he's finally discovered. Then he starts a plot to destroy the actual government and free the humanity of that emotionless state.
If you've seen Farhenheit 451, watch this one and then tell me if it's not a remake.

9.I, Robot. (2004 Alex Proyas)

Will Smith, what else do I need to say? This is a movie based on Isaac Asimov's short stories. I haven't read them but I probably will when I'm done with a couple of books I have to read.
This movie starts with the murder of Dr Lanning. The Chicago police detectice, Del Spooner, is in charge of the investigation, he was Lanning's friends and he takes this case very personal. They discover that a robot named Sonny is the killer of the Doctor, a robot that believes he has a mission and that insists that he is not guilty. Spooner starts investigating the murder but some machines try to kill him a couple of times. When he discovers the real plot that's behind that murder the robots turn against the humans. Spooner, a doctor friend of Lanning and Sonny have to save them.

10. Invasion of the Body Snatchers. (1956 Don Siegel)

I think this one is the best of the three movies I've seen about Body Snatchers. The one of the 78 wasn't bad but the 2007 version with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig... I'm not a big fan of it, I will rewatch it though, just to be sure. I still like the black and white version of 1956 better. I'm not going to explain this one, I'm sure it doesn't even need to be explained but just in case, here's the wikipedia link.

I left out some sagas that I really love like Alien, Matrix and Star Wars. I didn't want to put them here because I just couldn't choose one of each and I didn't want this top ten to be all about them. I still think they are very high on the top ten but Back to the future is still my number one.
Probably I would check the spelling and grammar of this post but right now I'm a bit lazy or maybe just kind of tired of the post itself, dunno, so, sorry for my horrid english!
