A year ago or so, I started watching this Chinese Web Series based on a novel with the name Are you addicted? by Chai Jidan. It was a BL series with hot guys so I was obviously going to love it.
I'm going to be honest, the web series is better than the novel, I read the first book and I'm kinda hesitant about reading the second one because I can't stand too much drama. The novel is pretty fucked up in so many levels, the series, not so much, mostly because it was the beginning of the novel and the real hard stuff still had to happen.

Hace un año aproximadamente, empecé a ver esta Serie Web China basada en una novela llamada Are you addicted? de Chai Jidan. Era una serie BL con chicos guapos así que era bastante obvio que me iba a gustar.
Voy a ser sincera, la serie es mejor que la novela, leí el primer libro y estoy dudando en si debo leer o no el segundo porque no puedo aguantar demasiado drama. La novela es bastante jodida a diferentes niveles, la serie, no tanto, principalmente porque la serie sólo es el principio de la novela y las cosas jodidas aún no han pasado.
In general, it's not a great story, not because it's very typical but because it's full of things that shouldn't be part of a normal, healthy relationship, from an occidental point of view, a lot of the characters have a way of thinking that's very old fashioned, a lot. I read the translation so I'm not sure if the way it's written it's something typical Chinese or if it's the way Chai Jidan writes because I've read other things by the same author and they are more or less the same, that said, the way it's written is kind of strange. I'm not a big fan of it and that's another reason why I prefer the series, that and the actors who portray the two main characters.
En general, no es una gran historia, no porque sea la típica historia si no porque está llena de cosas que no deberían ser parte de una relación de pareja normal y sana, desde el punto de vista de un occidental, muchos de los personajes tienen una manera de pensar muy anticuada, mucho. Leí la traducción por lo que no estoy segura de si la forma en la que está escrita es algo típico de la literatura China o si es la forma en la que Chai Jidan escribe, ya que también he leído otras cosas suyas y son más o menos iguales, dicho esto, la forma en la que está escrito es rara. No soy muy fan de como está escrito y esa es otra razón por la que prefiero la serie, eso y los actores que hacen de los dos personajes principales.
But I know myself and even a year or two latter, that doesn't matter, I had to buy the DVD. I bought the taiwanese version, if I'm not mistaken, the photobook and the Korean special edition. The only one that I can watch is the Korean one, yeah, I'm like that, because of the DVD zone but still, I had to have them, I wanted the other versions but most of them are out of print which is a pity but also a relief because that would be too much money.

El único que puedo ver es el dvd coreano, sep, soy así, por las zonas del DVD pero aún así tenía que tenerlos, de hecho quiero las otras versiones pero la mayoría ya no se hacen lo cual es una pena pero también un alivio porque sería demasiado dinero gastado tontamente.
This show was banned in China because the main theme was the gay relationship between the two main characters, there were two versions of the series, one for TV if I recall properly, that was censored, and the one for web that wasn't, there was no explicit scene, or at least nothing that I would consider explicit, just a few kisses and that was about it.
This was supposed to have at least a second season but obviously never happened because of the ban which made the ending of the first season a bit strange because of the cliffhanger.
Esta serie fue prohibida en China porque el tema de la serie era una relación homosexual entre los dos personajes principales, había dos versiones de esta, una para la tele si recuerdo correctamente, que estaba censurada, y la otra para web que no lo estaba, no había ninguna escena explícita, o al menos nada que yo podría considerar explícito, sólo algunos besos y poco más.
La seria se suponía que debía tener al menos una segunda temporada pero obviamente esto nunca pasó por la prohibición lo cual hizo que el final de la primera quedase bastante raro por el cliffhanger.
After this happened, there was another novel by the same author, Advance Bravely, that was going to also become a web series but the director was worried about it being banned too so they filmed the whole thing and it took them a while to have it ready. A couple of months ago I saw the first three chapters had been "released", but they are supposed to be released officially soon, not sure if that would happen because now China has also banned gay relationships on the internet, which, let's be completely honest, sucks. Also, afaik China is not a country where their main religion forbids gay relationships so I'm wondering why they hate gays so much.
Después de que esto pasase, hubo otra novela del mismo autor (creo que autora), Advance Bravely, que iba a ser adaptada para una web serie pero el director estaba preocupado por que también la prohibiesen así que grabaron la serie completa lo cual les llevó un tiempo tenerla preparada. Hace un par de mese vi que habían "sacado" los tres primeros capítulos (o cuatro ¿?), pero se supone que pronto van a sacarlos de forma oficial, no estoy segura de si ahora pasará ya que China ha prohibido las relaciones homosexuales también en internet, lo cual es, seamos sinceros, una mierda. Por cierto, por lo que yo sé, China no es un país cuya religión principal sea una que prohiba las relaciones entre personas del mismo sexo por lo que me pregunto porqué odian tanto a los gays.

The first DVD I bought had some postcards inside and the photobook had a poster and a paipay.
The second one, was inside a box similar to the one that appears on the series, it had the dvd plus the bts, four sheets of stickers, a bunch of postcards and other photos, the script in Chinese and Korean and a small and different photobook.
I think next time I might buy another series but this time it will be a Thai series that I really like, either Sotus (They're filming Sotus S!!!) or Waterboyy the series. I'll think about it.
Pero dejemos eso de lado.
El primer DVD que compré tenía algunas postales dentro y el photobook tenía un poster y un pai pai.
El segundo venía en una caja parecida a la que aparece en la serie, tenía los DVDs y tras las escenas, cuatro páginas de pegatinas, algunas postales y otras fotos, el guión en chino y coreano y un photobook más pequeño y diferente al otro.
Creo que la próxima vez puede que compre otra seria pero esta vez será una serie Tailandesa que me gusta bastante, probablemente o Sotus (¡¡¡están grabando Sotus S!!!) o Waterboyy the series. Me lo pensaré.
