[Books] Perfil Asesino de John Connolly/ The killing Kind by John Connolly.

To start this entry I want to state how stupid I'm sometimes. I bought some of John Connolly's book when I was living in London, first i bought two and then I bought four more, then I came back to Spain and I wanted the other books that I didn't have. Today I realized I bought a book in spanish that I already have in english, this one. It's not a big deal as I'm going to buy them all in spanish and english, I guess the translation of the title was what made me confuse about the book. Let's just drop the subject. This book is the third one of the Charlie Parker's series. I have to say that I love the character and I really love John Connolly's books. If you guys like thriller, pulp fiction and supernatural things, all very well written I recommend John Connolly.

I enjoyed this book as I enjoyed the other four I read (yeah 'cause actually I started with The lovers, followed with The whisperers and then started with the first one, I don't know why but I usually do those things), Charlie Parker is a great character, somehow it reminds me of John Constantine, it's a dark character and he does bad things when he needs to do them but I guess he got more conscience and remorse than John Constantine, anyway the world he lives into it's a mix between the average world of normal people; the dark world of killers, detectives, underworld and the even darker world of the dead. I guess I like John Connolly for the same reason I like Carlos Ruiz Zafón but in a subtle different way, both show you a world that can be absolutely normal and real and then let you see a piece of fantasy and unreality that is totally plausible on that world they created. I have to say that I love Angel and Louis, the secondary characters, and even though I hated what happened to one of them I love that for once we could see how they were only human. I'm starting the next book and they are back again. Did I mentioned that they are gay? Yeah, they are, a black killer and a white thief and I LOVE them. I don't want to spoil the book so I'll just write the synopsis that's on the back of the book so you can taste a bit of its greatness.

*** Para empezar esta entrada quiero que veáis lo tonta que soy. Compré algunos libros de John Connolly cuando yo vivía en Londres, primero me compré dos y luego me compré cuatro más, luego volví a España y quería que los otros libros que no tenía, así que me los compré pero sólo los encontré en español. Hoy me he dado que me compré un libro en español que ya tengo en Inglés, este. No pasa nada porque que me los voy a comprar todos en español y en Inglés, supongo que la traducción del título fue lo que me despistó. Vamos a cambiar de tema. Este libro es el tercero de la serie de Charlie Parker. Tengo que decir que me encanta el personaje y realmente me encantan los libros de John Connolly. Si os gusta el thriller, las novelas negras y las cosas sobrenaturales, todo muy bien escrito, os recomiendo a John Connolly.

Me ha encantado este libro como los otros cuatro que leí (sí porque en realidad empecé con The lovers, seguí con The whisperers y luego me leí el primero, no sé por qué pero yo suelo hacer esas cosas), Charlie Parker es un gran personaje, de alguna manera me recuerda a John Constantine, es un personaje oscuro y hace cosas que no son del todo correctas cuando hace falta hacerlas, pero supongo que tiene más conciencia y remordimiento que John Constantine, de todos modos el mundo en que viven ambos es un mezcla entre el mundo de las personas normales; el oscuro de los asesinos, detectives, bajos fondos y el mundo aún más oscuro de los muertos. Supongo que me gusta John Connolly por la misma razón que me gusta Carlos Ruiz Zafón, pero de una manera sutilmente diferente, a la vez que muestran un mundo que puede ser absolutamente normal y real, luego le permiten ver una pedazo de fantasía e irrealidad que es totalmente plausible en ese mundo que ellos crean. Tengo que decir que me encantan Ángel y Louis, los personajes secundarios, y a pesar de que odio lo que le pasó a uno de ellos me encanta que por una vez podamos ver cómo son sólo humanos. Estoy empezando el próximo libro y están de vuelta otra vez. ¿He mencionado que son gay? Sí, lo son, un asesino negro y un ladrón blanco y los AMO. No quiero echar a perder el libro así que solo voy a escribir la sinopsis que está en la parte posterior del libro para que podáis probar un poco de su grandeza.
