[Top 10] Movie time.

I wanted to update my blog but I didn't really have time to do what I really wanna do, so I'm just sticking with an idea I've got time ago. I though why not to put my top10 favourite movies. It's pretty hard for me to do it 'cause I got fav movies depending on the theme but for this first time I'm going to do my fave ever or more like classic movies, I don't really know how to call it. On the near future (I hope) I will do more TOP10 about movies and surely about other stuff as books, video games, songs, make up brands, etc... So, let's stop with the chit chat and let's beggin.
Even if this is my top10 it's not that the number 1 is my fave ever, It's just too difficult to clasify these movies! So, I just ordered them by date. It's was so hard to choose just ten movies therefore many of my also favourite movies are out of the list.

1.Some like it hot. (1959 Billy Wilder)

I really like this movie and maybe it's right that it's in the 1st place. If you don't know this movie (shame on you!!!) you should watch it right now. Starring by Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe. Great actors and great movie I've got to say. The movie was called "Con faldas y a lo loco" in Spain and it's about two musicians that witness a crime by the mafia so they got to escape and get a job into an all girl music band, htey disguise themselves as women and get the train with the band. One of the guys, Joe (Tony Curtis) falls for Sugar (Marylin Monroe) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon) gets a rich suitor. They spend some days at the beach hotel performing with the band until the Mafia go there to do a "meeting", then they try to escape and everything starts to get wild. I think it's a pretty interesting and funny movie and one of it's quotes is one of the most famous quotes of cinema "Well, nobody's perfect".

2.Farhenheit 451. (1966 François Truffaut)

I first watched this movie on my first (maybe second) year of university and it became one of my favourites right away. I even have the special edition on dvd.
This movie its from the famous director Truffaut, and starring some classic movie stars. The plot of the movie is about a futurist society that even if they got technological advances they don't read books, indeed it's forbidden by law to own or read books. It's that strong that law that they have a special team to prevent and erradicate those practices, they're called Firemen and they're nothing simmilar to the actual firemen, they search books and set them on fire. One of the fireman gets curious and take one of the books to it's place and starts reading it. He starts to get persecuted and finally leave his wife and his old life to be a renegade at the woods with people like him that memorize a book to mantain the legacy of literature.
I think it's quite obvious why this is one of my fave movies, 'cause I LOVE books! I will look for the novel on wich the movie is based because I really wanna read it.

3.Highlander.(1986 Russell Mulcahy)

Higlander or as here in Spain we call it "Los inmortales" is a very good movie. Starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, this is one of the best sci-fi movies of the 80s, indeed I'm so into 80's sci-fi so, what can I say?
The movie its about the Highlanders, immortal people that can only be killed by being beheaded, everytime one of these immortal kills another the power of the dead man goes to the killer, making him more powerfull. The movie revolves arround the life of Connor MacLeod/Russell Nash (Christopher Lambert) from his first "dead" since today in wich one of the most feared immortals is looking for him to kill him and get his power trying to become the one and only immortal.
Christopher Lambert movies from the 80's are one of my weakness...

4.Princess Bride. (1987 Rob Reiner)

I'm not a lot into romantic movies, I'm not that kind of girl XD but maybe because of the fantasy or the way it's explained I don't know, but for some reason this is maybe my second fave movie ever.
The movie is about Buttercup and Westley two lovebirds XD She hates him from the begining (how can you hate such a hottie? XD) but then she discovers that everytime he says "As you wish" he's telling her he loves her. So they finally fall in love with each other, but Westley has to leave and Buttercup is left behind, she thinks her love is captured and killed by the feared pirate Roberts so she tries to move on. She becomes the fiancee of a bad prince until one day that some malefactors kidnap Buttercup and the pirate Roberts follow them and rescue the princess. Finally the pirate is no other than Westley, the true love of Buttercup, but the prince get's the princess and kills Westley. Two of the malefactors help Westley and the princess and they take revenge. I don't wanna spoil the movie, I know I already did it... a little XD
Here's one of my fave characters ever, Iñigo Montoya, I even got a T with his most famous quote "Hello, my name is Iñigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!!!", he is Spanish btw and a swordsman with a rapier!!!

5.Dead Poets Society. (1989 Peter Weir)

If I have to be sincere I don't remember too well this movie but it was my fave on the late nineties (I think even earlier), maybe 'cause I was a teenager and I was kind of rebelious XD Who knows. I've got to re-watch it 'cause it's really good.
The movie is about a new and innovative literature and poetry teacher that arrives to a traditional school named Welton, he will shake the minds of the students and will make them think and act different, how they really want to and no how people expect them to be. Some of the students meet at night at a cave to talk about poetry. One of the students wanna act into a play of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer night dream" (one of my fave plays btw) but his father is so strict and he doesn't want his only son to do such a thing. They guy do it anyway but when his father finds out everything starts to go wrong, the boy even takes his life and the school fires the teacher. Starring at this movie Robbin Williams, a very young and cute Ethan Hawk (one of my first movie crush XD) and Robert Lawrence Leonard aka House best friend Wilson.

6. Jurassic Park. (1993 Steven Spielberg)

I'm watching this right now XD I really love this!!! I'm pretty sure you know this movie and what's about but I'm gonna explain it anyway. Btw I kind of remember watching this at the cinema and I was so scared about the dinosaur that kills the fat guy; I also remember having a toy of a velociraptor that made sounds and had a wound on his flank. Anyway I was scared about this movie but for some reason when I was a kid (I was 7 years when I first saw this movie) I loved to watch action, horror and that kid of movies. I think I'm becoming a coward as I'm growing up XD.
So, the movie is based on a book by the same name (most of my faves are), it's about a fictional island in wich a man wants to recreate the world at the Jurassic time in wich the dinosaurs were walking on the earth. He wants that two of the most prestigious paleontologist go to the island to help him with the project, with them some other people that know about the world of dinosaurs come too and also the grandsons of the man. Everything looks fun until one of the workers at the project gets some stuff out of the labs and flees, he disconect some of the fences to escape but the dinosaurs kill him. All the attractions of the park starts to fail and the dinosaurs get free. The two paleontologists, the grandsons and some other people tries to survive and to get out of the island.
I used to have nightmares about this movie and some dinosaurs XD quite scary if you're under 10.

7.Demolition Man. (1993 Marco Brambilla)

Well, what can I say? I was raised on the 90s XD Yeah I loved action movies, I still do, and mainly I love 90s action movies, you know, no real plot just the good guy killing some bad guys, explotions, fights, yeah I was like that XD
Starring Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes y Sandra Bullock, this movie is about a cop that it's imprisoned for a crime he does not commit, with the new techologies his sentence is to be cryogenic for a very big amount of time. On the future the society has changed a lot and it's divided between the people that lives on the surface and the ones that lives at the underground against the nonsense rules. One of the top dogs of the government wants to get rid of the head of the resitance and awake the most dangerous criminal ever, Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) to make the job. Phoenix it's not easy to control and the cops, not knowing about the plan of the governor, awake the only cop that have ever trapped that criminal, that's John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone). The cop's not used to this new society and it's a bad ass cop using the old methods. He's got as a partner a cop named Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock) a big fan of the XX century. Phoenix tries to kill the head of the resistance but he's not ok with following orders so he kills the guy that have awaken him and starts to his own maleficent plan. John Spartan tries to stop him with the help of his new partner and the resistance. (He wins of course, that's a nineties movie!)
Another Sci-fi movie to the collection XD they're mainly my fave kind of movie.

8.Jumanji. (1995 Joe Johnston)

Another fiction, slash, fantasy movie. You probably have seen this movie at tv 'cause it's a classic XD
The movie happens in the past in wich a boy finds a table game and starts playing with the girl he likes, but it's not a normal game, strange things start to happen and the game swallows the kid, the girl leaves scared and the game remains forgotten until the present. The house of the kid remains abandoned until an aunt and two of his nephews come to live there. The kids find the game and they start to play until the kid come back to the real world, then he explains them about the game and that they have to find the girl that started to play with him in order to finish the game. They do it and after a hard time trying to convince the woman, they all play the game. Happening a lot of weird stuff in between they finally end the game, but I'm not going to explain the end. Starring Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, David Alan Grier, Jonathan Hyde and Kirsten Dunst inter alia.

9.American History X. (1998 Tony Kaye)

For some reason the three or so times I've first watched this movie I could never finished to see it. But When I finally ended it I loved it even more. One of my fave actors starrs in this movie, Edward Norton, with the kid of terminator, Edward Furlong.
Derek Vinyard is a neonazi kid that goes to jail for killing a black guy that tried to steal his car, when he's into prison at the begining everything's the same as out but he starts to see that people don't really believe on their "ideals" and they just act for his own convenience. He starts to be concious of that and turns away from their peers, they don't take it too well. He works at prison with a black guy, he hates the man at the begining but at the end he will be his best friend and the reason why he comes out of prison alive. One of the teachers of his old school come to visit him often 'cause he's worried about him and his little brother, who's following his old brother steps. He helps Derek to realize how reality is and the guy starts to change his vision of life. The story is explained (mainly at least) form the point of view of the little brother that has to do a essay about the imprisonment of his brother. When the older brother gets out of prison he tries to show his brother the way out of this world but things are never easy. Not gonna spoil the end, quite epic Imho.

10. Minority Report. (2002 Steven Spielberg)

I can't believe this is a "modern" movie XD Yeah I'm so much into old movies (at least 80s and 90s a lot). As you can see and should know, this is a Tom Cruise movie (I like some more movies of Tom Cruise indeed), also starring Collin Ay omma que rico Farrel XD This is also a sci-fi movie, it's about the future in wich no crime is commited because there's a system in wich they can see the future thanks to three psychics called "precogs". The police force named Precrime, is the one at charge of this service, the precogs see a vision and they act to prevent it, imprisoning the precriminals. John Anderton (Tomm Cruise) at some point of the movie he starts seen some inconsistencies at the system and one day he sees himself killing a guy he doesn't even know. He escapes with one of the precogs and tries to figure out who the guy is and the reason why. Finally he discovers everything's a trap. I'm no gonna explain anymore, the movie is fucking great, if you haven't seen it, just do it right now and you can also re-watch it!!!

Safary (maybe blogger) fucked the three last movies and I had to do magic to recover them TT^TT
Anyway, as I said before, I will do some other TOP10, just 'cause I feel like it XD about comedies, sci-fi, fantasy, animation, series, etc...
