Hey there, here's another book and I must say it was one of the best books I read last year.
It has a lot of the things I love, history, supernatural creatures, some action and last but not least, gay love. Yes, that kind of romantic stories are almost the only ones I can bare because most of the time I just hate how they portray the female character, but I'm mostly okay with the male ones, unless they made them horribly bad, but this is not the case.
The characters are well built, they have a very concrete personality and I'm sure they fit the history pretty well. For me it was like reading an awesome fanfiction, I have no idea if it started that way but I wouldn't be surprised.
Hola, otro libro y debo decir que es uno de los mejores libros que leí el año pasado.
Tiene muchas cosas de las que me gustan, historia, criaturas sobrenaturales, algo de acción y por último pero no menos importante, amor gay. Sí, esas historias románticas son de las pocas que puedo tolerar porque normalmente odio como retratan a los personajes femeninos (y las acabo odiando), pero en general me suele parecer bien como lo hacen con los masculinos, a no ser que lo hagan tremendamente mal, pero este no es el caso.
Los personajes están bien creados, tienen personalidades muy concretas que estoy bastante segura encajan en la historia bastante bien. Para mí fue como leer un fanfiction increíble, no tengo ni idea de si empezó así pero no me sorprendería.
The story is not new, we already know about Achiles and Patroclo but this time it's shown from a different perspective, not hiding (not like the movie Troy, come on... ) the love story between both character and owning it, making it perfect. The book is written in Patroclo's POV, it starts with the boy being a child, explaining how weak he was when he was, how he ended up meeting Achiles and their time together as friends and later something else. I'm not going to explain how it ends, although I'm pretty sure everyone knows what happened, and let's face it, they're historical characters. they are already dead... so yeah. But even though I hated the book towards the end because I knew what was going to happen and I didn't want it to happen, I must say I didn't dislike the end, it was pretty good.
In general, it's a good book, it has a bit of everything and if you're into yaoi and history I'm sure you'll love it. If you hate gay stuff, I don't even know what you're doing here but if you have an open mind you should give it a try and read the book, I'm sure you'll like it.
La historia no es nueva, ya conocemos a Aquiles y Patroclo pero esta vez nos lo enseñan desde una perspectiva diferente, sin esconder (no como en la película Troya, venga va... ) la historia de amor entre ambos personajes y haciéndolo suyo, haciendo que sea perfecto. El libro está escrito desde el punto de vista de Patroclo, empieza desde que el chico es un niño, explicando lo débil que era, como acaba conociendo a Aquiles y su tiempo juntos como amigos y más tarde como algo más. No voy a explicar como termina, aunque estoy bastante segura de que todo el mundo sabe lo que pasó, además, seamos realistas, son personajes históricos, ya están muertos... así que. Pero aunque odié el libro cerca del final porque ya sabía lo que iba a pasar y no quería que pasase, debo decir que no me desagradó el final, estuvo bastante bien.
En general, es un buen ibero, tiene un poco de todo y si te gusta el yaoi y la historia estoy seguro de que te encantará. Si odias el rollo gay, no sé que haces aquí pero si tienes una mente abierta deberías darle una oportunidad e intentar leer el libro, estoy segura de que te gustará.
