Hey there! Yesterday I finished another book. I'm trying to finish a bunch of them because I want to buy new ones. This time is some good old Science Fiction, I, Robot by Isaac Asimov.
Hey there! Ayer terminé otro libro. Estoy intentando terminar unos cuantos porque quiero comprar más libros. En esta ocasión es un libro de Ciencia ficción, I, Robot (Yo, Robot) de Isaac Asimov.
If you watched the movie by the same name, forget about it because it has almost nothing to do with it.
I, Robot is one of Isaac Asimov's famous novels. I don't think I have to say a lot about this author because it's very well known not only for SciFi fans but for the general public.
This book is a compilation of different short stories with the same theme, robots, duh, there's a main story that serves as an excuse to unify all the different stories. They all follow a temporal line, they're related and some of the character appear in different stories.
The book explains the evolution of robot technology through the life of Susan Calvin a Robopsychologist that works for U.S. Robots and Mechanical Men, she's being interviewed about her job and she explains different important events that changed her life and the course of robotics.
Si has visto la película del mismo nombre, olvidaos de ella, no tiene prácticamente nada que ver con ella.
I, Robot es una de las famosas novelas de Isaac Asimov. Creo que no tengo que decir mucho sobre este autor, ya que es muy bien conocido no sólo por los aficionados de la Ciencia Ficción si no también por el público en general.
Este libro es una recopilación de diferentes historias cortas con el mismo tema, robots, hay una historia principal que sirve como excusa para unificar todas las diferentes historias. Todos siguen una línea temporal, están relacionadas y varios de los personajes aparecen en diferentes historias.
El libro explica la evolución de la tecnología robótica a través de la vida de Susan Calvin un robopsicóloga que trabaja para U.S. Robots and Mechanical Men, que esentrevistada acerca de su trabajo y explica los diferentes eventos importantes que cambiaron su vida y el curso de la robótica.
What I like about this book:
Everything? I liked all the stories, each one of them were talking about a different aspect of, I'm guessing, Isaac Asimov society and I'm sure you can extrapolate them to nowadays' world. There was one of the stories that talked about religion that I found extremely similar to the situation at some parts of the world nowadays. They don't just explain some fictional story, they have a moral that is timeless.
Lo que me gusta de este libro:
¿Todo? Me han gustado todas las historias, cada uno de ellas hablaba de un aspecto diferente de, supongo, la sociedad de Isaac Asimov y estoy seguro de se pueden extrapolar al mundo hoy en día. Hubo una de las historias que hablaban de religión que me pareció muy similar a la situación en algunas partes del mundo hoy en día. No sólo explican una historia de ficción, tienen una moraleja que creo es atemporal.
What I dislike about this book:
I don't think there's anything about this book that I dislike. Yeah, I could talk about robotics, science and technology being either outdated or plainly wrong but this book was written through 1940 to 1950, I think it's pretty good if we have that in mind.
Lo que no me gusta de este libro:
No creo que haya nada de este libro que no me guste. Sí, podría hablar de la robótica, la ciencia y la tecnología, que o bien está obsoleta o sencillamente mal, pero este libro fue escrito a desde 1940 hasta 1950, creo que es bastante bien si tenemos eso en cuenta.
All in all, this is a good book, a nice fast read, very enjoyable and imho there are some great authors that you have to read, Isaac Asimov is one of them.
Considerándolo todo, este es un buen libro, una buena lectura rápida, muy agradable y en mi humilde opinión hay algunos autores que hay que leer, Isaac Asimov es uno de ellos.
